When was the last time you received feedback?

How did you feel 🤔?

Was it worth it?

Communities are a crucial part of our industry, it offers an illusion of what is known as networking. Community managers always seek feedback from the members on how the community is. Let's learn about community mentorship feedback.

As a team lead or program manager or product manager, how do you give and receive feedback?

*NOTE: This applies to growth feedback*

When receiving feedback one of the greatest fear is coming to terms with oneself on someone's else terms

## What is Feedback?

> ***Feedback is an act of uncovering, and confronting the other version of ourselves***

Feedback is either **window gazing** or **holding a mirror**

**Window Gazing you** say what you see. You say what your mind and eyes perceive to your mentee.

When **holding a mirror** you let your mentee see what is wrong then point it out. Holding a mirror is like directing the mindset of the mentee to figure out what they did well and what they didn't do well

Instead of us anticipating a drawback for each feedback we should **feed forward** As a mentor ask yourself: -

> ***Am I invoking a change or providing insights with this feedback?***

AS we warp up be comfortable in letting go, only then will you feed forward. Accept that someone else is holding a mirror for you

> ***Be comfortable in letting go***
